5 Charities to Support on World Down Syndrome Day

5 Charities to Support on World Down Syndrome Day

On March 21st, we celebrate World Down Syndrome day and it's an incredibly special day to us here at Dr. Noze Best.  Our founder, Dr. Steven Goudy was inspired by the needs of this patient population when creating the NozeBot because children with Down syndrome are predisposed to chronic nasal congestion, nasal drainage, and more frequent sinus infections, partly due to a smaller nose and nasal sinuses.

Because of this, the NozeBot was born and has helped so many children in the Down Syndrome population breathe better when they are sick, navigating RSV, or experiencing everyday congestion.

As the most common chromosomal disorder, Down Syndrome affects approximately 1 in every 700 babies.  Increasing your understanding of Down Syndrome and how to best support a child with the diagnosis promotes early intervention and effective care.

Throughout the year, we donate a portion of all sales to the National Down Syndrome Congress and other organizations that help improve the lives of those with Down syndrome. To honor this day that is very near and dear to us, we're highlighting some of our favorite charities to support year-round.

National Association for Down Syndrome

NADS is the oldest organization in the country serving individuals with Down syndrome and their families. It was founded in Chicago in 1961 by parents who chose to go against medical advice and raised their children with Down syndrome at home. Their pioneering efforts have made it easier for later generations of individuals with Down syndrome to be accepted by their families and communities, to develop their capabilities, and to work towards independence.
