I'm such a fan of the NozeBot - I've been an Anesthetist for almost 10 years — 5 years with adults at Northside and 4.5 years doing peds. Suction's a huge part of my gig: stomachs, lungs, mouths, you name it. It's the #1 thing we set up and the first thing we do when things get messy.
"Suction's a Huge Part of My Gig" — An Anesthetist's NozeBot Story
As a first-time mom, I knew suction was important, but I didn’t get how crucial it was. I bought a nose Frida portable electric suction, and it worked okay... until it started leaking. We were out of town, my daughter caught her first real cold, and after buying another nose Frida that also leaked after 1-2 uses, she got a nasty ear infection. Two rounds of antibiotics didn't cut it, and her stomach got so upset she skipped solids for a month.
My pediatrician said frequent nose suctioning is the best way to avoid ear infections by preventing buildup. I was ready to spend whatever it took.
I heard about the NozeBot from a friend and saw it on a couple of registries, but as a first-time mom, I wasn't sure if it was worth the splurge. After the ear infection, I was so shook. I snagged the NozeBot in early November, and it's hands down my favorite baby product.
It's become a staple in our sick day routine — 2-3 times a day. My daughter loves the routine: saline spray, nose suction, baby Vicks. It’s super easy to clean, and wow, the suction is amazing! Nose Frida doesn’t even come close. In hindsight, we weren’t getting anything. The Nozebot is magic. Even if we’re just gone for 2 days, we take it with us. It’s been to Banff, Canada, Augusta and Columbus, GA, and now Miami, FL. It’s so portable and easy to carry that we’d never risk traveling without it.
I’m such a fan that I bought 4 Nozebots during Black Friday sales to gift it for any future baby showers.
Thank you to Dr. Goudy for this invention and can’t wait to see what other goodies he’s got for us!
